EDEN PRAIRIE, MN - NOVEMBER 15, 2022 - Remco Toys, the historic and beloved toy brand is pleased to announce its multi-year licensing agreement with Powertown Wrestling for its return to the world of wrestling action figures.
Powertown Wrestling, founded by Steve Rosenthal and former Pro Wrestler Greg Gagne, is dedicated to connecting fans and collectors with the greatest Wrestling talent they revere. With this deal between Remco and Powertown, Powertown will release the co-branded REMCO POWERTOWN ALL-STAR WRESTLERS in 2023.
The market of Pro Wrestling Action Figure toys was a Remco innovation in the 1980s. Created by none other than Powertown’s Rosenthal while at Remco, Steve partnered with legendary pro wrestler and wrestling association owner Verne Gagne to release the first ever toy line of pro wrestling figures, ‘AWA Remco All Star Wrestlers’ in 1985. Today the licensed Wrestling action figure market is a multi million dollar subcategory of toy sales.
